Traveling to any country comes with inherent health and safety risks. Prior to traveling abroad, students will be required to sign a Travel Release and Waiver form acknowledging these risks. While Limestone will do its best to inform students of these risks, it is up to each student to conduct research on their own. Any required immunizations or medical visits prior to the trip will be at the student’s expense.
Because many insurance plans do not provide adequate coverage for people traveling abroad, Limestone will provide additional health insurance for every student traveling outside the United States. In the event of an emergency, you will have 24 hour access to English-speaking emergency service no matter where you may be. Students should review the coverages Limestone provides prior to departing. Students may purchase additional supplemental policies at their own expense if they would like. The following is provided by Limestone.
Insurance will provide a refund of the trip price to Limestone College if you need to cancel or interrupt the tour due to reasons of serious injury or illness requiring hospitalization, financial hardship due to unexpected job loss, jury duty, military call to active duty or severe damage to home. This refund will allow you to select another trip at a future date at no cost to you.
Coverage of hospital bills, doctors’ fees and medical transportation for illnesses or injury while on tour, as well as travel and accommodation expenses for a family member to be with you while hospitalized in the event of a life-threatening illness.
Coverage for baggage, airline tickets, travel documents and valuable property in cases of theft or delay.
Coverage for expenses due to flight delays (lodging, food, and other reasonable expenses) as well as limited coverage for every full land day missed of your program due to flight delays or cancellations.
